Amenities

Equipped with a Void sound system and extensive noise dampening infrastructure, The Evergreen is proud to have one of Portland’s premier sound systems and is among the best acoustics in the City.  

Lighting

In addition to our versatile permanent lighting, The Evergreen has been pre-wired with a DMX system to allow for a massive installation of any and all lighting – up to 140 lights which can all be managed from a central lighting panel. We also include café lighting for all events.

Bar

The Evergreen will help you create a custom and curated bar menu with our unique bar program. We also have a one of a kind built in beautiful operating bar.

Capacity

Our max capacity is 560 people: 445 on the main floor and 115 on the mezzanine. For seated meals our max capacity is 200. For standing/cocktail style events we recommend no more than 450. For events that include the Loyal Legion, our downstairs neighbor, events can add on another 200 guests (for a full building buyout). We have hosted events from 15-550 in our space. It is super versatile making it conducive to a diverse range of events and seating options.

Tables/Chairs

The Evergreen has a complete inventory of tables and chairs available for our guests. Our current inventory can accommodate seated events for up to 150 people as well as high tops, rounds, sweetheart table and banquets.

Accessibility

The Evergreen is fully ADA accessible, from the basement storage to the mezzanine, thanks to a full sized elevator that services all four floors.

Floor Plan

The Evergreen is comprised of three areas: an entry area on the ground floor, a main floor, and a mezzanine, all of which are serviced by a full sized elevator.

The exact square footage of the space is as follows:
Entry area: 500 square feet / Main Floor: 5,000 square feet / Mezzanine: 1,000 square feet

Private Suite

We have designed a comfortable and memorable space for our wedding suite/private green room. From geometric wallpaper to a custom tufted seat, this space will enhance your wedding day preparation needs.

Loyal Legion

The Loyal Legion is Oregon’s premier beer hall. Featuring 100 Oregon beers on tap (and only beers from Oregon) the Loyal Legion has the largest selection of Oregon beers in the country. We can partner with Loyal Legion for anything from a cocktail hour to a whole building buyout.

Voysey

Voysey is a unique cocktail speakeasy style bar located in the basement.  Inquire about partnering with Voysey.

Rentals

The Evergreen offers additional rentals (photobooth, games, candles, etc.)

We have fantastic newly updated HVAC system to provide the utmost comfort

Restrooms

Venue Manager

Every event has at least one employee of The Evergreen onsite available to help you with any facility related needs.

Events with alcohol have a door person included in your venue fee.

The space does not need much to feel elevated. We are true to our name and boast over 40 potted plants included in every rental.

The Evergreen team will set up our inventory prior to your event based on the unique floor plan you create with our events team. This includes tables and chairs as well as bistros. There is a $250 fee for us to set up/break down. You or your planner/catering company/rental company are responsible for setting up additional rental items and décor. We can waive the $250 fee if you prefer to set up/break down your own furniture.

We love your furry friends. So long as they are on a leash and well behaved you are welcome to bring your pets, but we just ask that you let us know ahead of your event.

We do offer a courtesy hold option that allows clients first right of refusal on dates. If someone else becomes interested in that same date, a firm yes/no will be required within 24 hours.

Our event day is 10-12 hours depending on your day of the week (unless otherwise noted), that includes set-up, event, and tear-down. How you want to use your block of time is up to you, but the latest for guests/music in the space is 1am (which would be a 2am load out). There is an hourly option for weekday events (Monday-Thursday).

Venue fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. In the event of a cancellation, any security deposits would be the only refundable payments

WHAT IS THE PARKING LIKE?

The Evergreen is located centrally in an urban environment. Because of the historic nature of our space we do not have dedicated parking to our space. There is a pay to park lot right across the street on SE 6th/Alder OR another one on SE Morrison/6th (about 2 blocks south of the venue). Otherwise, it is mostly street parking. We usually find that many guests use uber/lyft or take some type of rideshare/taxi service, ride their bike etc. We are also right on the street car/bus line. Valet service or shuttle service is also another potential option for guests.

Absolutely! One of the beauties of an indoor venue is being able to have the ability to control the temperature. We always have a Venue Manager on hand that can adjust temperature needs as necessary.

All events are required to obtain event liability insurance for their event. This one-day policy names The Evergreen as an additional insured and will need to be in the amount of $1,000,000. To obtain this insurance, you will purchase event liability insurance or use existing insurance. Your homeowner's insurance may cover your event for free or you may use a company like The Event Helper. Ask our team for more information or a link to purchase.

Included in your rental is a one hour rehearsal for each event, but day/time will be determined by The Evergreen's event schedule/calendar and rehearsals are not officially confirmed until 2 weeks prior to your event date.

There are many wonderful locations for photos nearby. Within walking distance you will find lots of great urban landscapes, murals, brickworks, etc. You are also more than welcome to take photos in the venue and at Loyal Legion. Talk to your photographer as they are likely to scout the location on your behalf or check out our instagram for some inspo from past events!

Yes, weddings require a day of coordinator. We offer that service in-house on a limited basis or you can use anyone you'd like so long as they are not a guest at your wedding.

Only ticketed (open to the public) events require licensed security. The Evergreen provides a door monitor (not official security) at the door for all events with alcohol.

The Evergreen provides all alcohol and will create a custom bar menu for you based on your preferences. We can allow you to bring in outside beer/wine, but there is a corkage fee to do so, which for most clients will not financially work out in your favor. Talk to our team directly to learn more about custom bar service.

HOW MUCH IS THE BAR?

Our bar is mostly consumption-based (meaning everything is by the drink). So, most bar totals vary based on the celebratory nature of your guests. Please feel free to reach out to our team for us to get you a ballpark on bar costs based on guest count, number of hours the bar is operating and what you'd like to serve. The general rule of thumb for a ballpark number is to assume one drink per hour per person. Labor is based on number of hours staff works.

Yes, but you will still be required to pay for staff/labor and meet a $500 bar minimum.

We require that all clients choose a company from our approved catering team. Their contact information is provided in our brochure, or our team can send information on request and help with providing recommendations to a few of our catering partners that align with your specific vision and/or budget. All of our catering partners have a proven track record of providing exceptional service along with high quality food and beverage options. If you are interested in going off the list you will need to have that pre-approved and there is typically a fee to do so. All catering in the space needs to be full service.

We do not have a full catering kitchen onsite. This is one of the reasons we ask you to work with one of our approved caterers as they know how to execute your menu in our space and bring in everything they need to make sure your service is perfect.

We do not have client refrigeration available onsite.

If you'd like to use Loyal Legion for your cocktail hour or for any part of your event, there is a food/beverage minimum based on your guest count.

CAN MY DJ PLUGIN TO YOUR SOUND?

Yes, your DJ is welcome to bring in XLR cables to plugin to the use of our speakers/bass. There is a $100 fee for this. Your DJ is also welcome to bring in all of their own gear at no cost. We do have (2) wireless mics ($75 each) and a projector/screen ($250 rental). If you'd like to just plugin a playlist from phone/computer there is no charge to do that.

Rental companies need to drop off and pick up the same day during your contracted hours for the event. If rentals are catering rentals only and through Arden Event Collective a next day pick up may be an option, talk to our team to see your options. Special circumstances sometimes allow us to be flexible.

Typically your rentals/decor will be loaded in during your event rental window. On rare occasions we can accommodate some load in during rehearsals, but you will need to check with your Event Manager.

Yes, real candles are allowed on tables and surfaces, but they must be in a holder with the flame at least an inch below the top of the holder. Candles on the floor/stairs are required to be LED.

Sparkler exits are allowed outside, at least 10' away form the building and need to be organized by your coordinator

Our fire system will not allow most fog machines.

Glitter of any kind is not allowed in the space. We also do not allow rice or birdseed. If you plan to use flower petals (down the aisle) and they are real they need to be a neutral color. If they are not neutral, they will need to be silk (real petals can stain our precious wood floor).
